Welcome to part 1 of a series on trolling. These are what I consider to be shit tier techniques, but even shit tier can be extremely effective used properly or to the right ends.
#1. Flaming vitriol
Flaming is generally frowned upon, even among trolls, unless it's being used as a means to a greater end. [Read the series on overthrowing small web communities]. Flaming is basically doing everything you can to spread fire and anger in any capacity possible with absolutely no holds barred. It's pretty downright low and to be honest it's not that interesting. Either way, don't be afraid to shoot low. The lowest entry level flamers should opt for words like "fagget" or "smfd u fucking nerd #rekt". Don't be afraid to threaten rape or irl murder. Be aware it's probably illegal though, so don't tell the cops I told you it was okay because it's not. But that's flaming.
#2. Genre wars
One of my favorite ways to piss off the internet (to no logical end and for no rhyme or reason) is by starting genre wars. It's really easy. You go in and say some shit like this
[Please note: this is not my own trolling]
#3. Assigning religion to bands (or anyone)
"Wow. They've really changed. I mean, for a Christian band, I don't know what I expected. . ."
This is bound to cause an apeshit storm the likes of which mankind can hardly recognize.
#4. Ninja comment editing.
In a similar capacity to reddit's asinine system, it's really easy to game opinions on YouTube--especially in conjunction with one of the other techniques. After getting (or gaming) a bunch of thumbs up for a generic comment "I love this band! It's so inspirational. My mom cancer blah blah blah my dog died got me through tough blah blah always there when blah." can be turned into something offensive. Works great with politics--which leads me to . . .
#5. Politics or really any type of "baiting"
Basically the way Ann Coulter makes her entire living. She doesn't believe (well maybe she does) any of the bullshit she spews, she just believes being controversial makes her correct. You can take a page from the Nancy Graces of the world and use these techniques to your amusement. Basically, you say something intelligent, but totally unrelated to the video or discussion at hand.
Best yet is to drag American politics in. You are bound to hook an American. "Damn liberal party. Why did they vote for Obama?" is a great way to watch the Americans scramble to be the smartest, or most insulting. Either way, you giggle. :)
#Bonus: Appeal to ______
Literally go google "Appeal to authority . . . " and follow the different wikilinks (rationalwiki is great) for different appeals. This will give you a great framework to craft opinions and really get on people's nerves. Whatever suits you.
Have fun and try not to break any laws or get in any irl fist fights.
